Squid Install -=Debian=- Squid Configuration

The squid config has hundreds of options for may different situations. To get squid up and running so it proxies your network you will only need to edit the the line in the config that says:
#http_access allow localnet
Remove the # to activate the allow.

By default the local networks include:
10.0.0.0/8
172.16.0.0/12
192.168.0.0/16

Restart the squid service to activate the localnet allow by running the restart command.
/etc/init.d/squid restart

This will get you a functional squid proxy configuration.
Test this by pointing your browser's proxy settings at [IP address of proxy:3128]

** Tail the log file to see it in action
tail -f /var/log/squid/access.log
(CTRL-C to exit tail when you are done)
